Golden Gate Strait Memorials is a small family-owned and operated business providing unattended (unaccompanied) memorial ash scattering in the waters of the Pacific Ocean just outside San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge. Unattended means that family and/or friends are not present at the ash scattering – we scatter the cremated remains (cremains or ashes) of your loved one on your behalf. We accept ashes shipped from any location in the United States. We are culturally aware and serve people of all faiths and beliefs.
Unattended ash scattering is an option for those who can't be present for the ash scattering but wish to honor a loved one or follow faith traditions for interment. People choose an unattended ocean ash scattering for a variety of reasons, involving practical, personal and emotional considerations.
The scattering of ashes at sea is a time-honored, meaningful, and environmentally friendly tradition. When there are obstacles to being able to undertake and participate in a memorial ash scattering at sea, it's helpful to know that there are alternatives available to you.
Arranging an unattended ash scattering at sea is relatively simple and straightforward. It's an affordable option compared to attended ash scatterings, which involve chartering a boat and crew, plus the additional costs of travel by family and friends.
Overall, the decision to choose an unattended ash scattering at sea is deeply personal and reflects the desires and values of the deceased and their family. It offers a unique and meaningful way to honor and memorialize your loved one while embracing the beauty and tranquility of the natural world.
